This looks awesome. It definitely seems to be one of the best Blogger category implementations I've come across. I have a question about the post tagging procedure. Is there any way to avoid the need to have the tag followed by a colon in the post title?
Thanks

Jeff, Thanks for the compliment.
I appreciate the feedback.
I'll add the tagging option as a feature request for version 1.2.
But it may be available as a patch prior to that (you know v.1.1.2).
I'll be watching the comments on the Blogger help group to get more ideas on how to improve the next package.
Cheers,
-Jeffery

Thanks, Jeffery, and I see that you added a tweak to the feature request. To be clear, what concerned me the most was not the use of the colon, but the fact that the tag had to appear in the post title. I'm exploring different ways to create a photoblog, where my posts are photographs and the post titles are the names of the photographs. In my case, needing to put the tag in the title would intertfere with my artistic objectives. I might not represent your typical end user, but I suspect a lot of people would appreciate the flexibility of having the tags somewhere else.
Just my two cents. Thanks.

I understand you cannot use this method if you have a blog on blogger blogspot. why is this and is there anyway that I can get around it?
thanks

I am starting my first blog and would like to do it right. I am having a lot of difficulty modifying and installing the script. Is there a "For Dummies" version?
If not, is someone willing to help me for a couple of bucks?
Thanks,
Jackie (Ben's wife)

You may be able to find someone at Blogger's help group to take a look at your blog and offer suggestions:

Unfortunately, I'm really strapped for time right now... Although I am planning on producing a step by step tutorial on how to set up the Blogger category script, it may be a while before I can get to it. Thanks.

hello, thanks for putting the time in to get this feature on blogger.
i'm using the alternate domain feature from media temple...so i have a domain associated with my primary and am having trouble setting the output directory.
the error im getting is
Writing category file: Art and Design -> /var/www/html/passthewind.com/categories/design-links.html
Cannot write to file (./var/www/html/passthewind.com/categories/design-links.html)
I was hoping you would be able to provide some insight into what's going on. thank you so much in advance.

The message "Cannot write to file" usually means the directory or file is not writable by the web server. You can change write permissions by using an ftp client and using the CHMOD options. See your ftp client's documentation for details...
I hope that addresses your issue.

Hi there,
I have managed to put in the link to this site on my main template.
However, the text link keep showing up in the categories link, see below:
http://www.seewe.com/categories/wallpapers-index.php
What can I do to remove the text link, just to keep the button link?
I've tried to delete the code via ftp,but it keep saying:
"[a fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this directive]".
Same message accour when I try to change the permission for writting those files.
What can I do to remove the text link, just to keep the button link?

Hi Seewe,
Looks like you resolved your problem. The text link isn't showing up, just the moshare icon. So that looks great!
I'm going to install a contact form to facilitate communications. As you know, unless you allow others to communicate with you via your profile page, I have no way to respond directly.
Thanks

Hi there
Just wanted to say that I agree with Jeff that I'd like to avoid having to put the category tag in my post title. It's been several months since he originally suggested this mod...any chance it's about to happen now?
My two cents: I like it when the tags appear at the bottom of the post. That's easy enough to implement by adding the html into the post template but I don't know how to make that work with your script.
Otherwise, I'd like to say that after hours of research into solutions, yours is by far the best I've found.
Thank you!
